Accessibility information

GAMRIC has been designed with safety, inclusivity and accessibility in mind. Please find some information below which may assist you when planning your attendance.

Venue

The conference will take place on the ground floor and level two of 116 Pall Mall. Lift access is available throughout the venue.

All conference rooms are wheelchair accessible. If you require a reserved wheelchair space, please contact us at events(at)lifearc.org.
Due to the Grade I listed status of the building, there are restrictions on access for motorised or battery-powered wheelchairs and vehicles. If this may affect you, please let our events team know as soon as possible at events(at)lifearc.org
Front door ramp access must be pre-booked. Please email events(at)lifearc.org. in advance.

  • All levels are accessible via passenger lifts with low-reach buttons, braille, and audio announcements.
  • All staircases have handrails.
  • Public areas are well-lit.

All conference rooms are wheelchair accessible. If you need a seat reserved in the front row, back row, or aisle for accessibility reasons, please contact events(at)lifearc.org.

Please note, a quite area cannot be guaranteed due to the space available with the venue.

We will not display flashing lights or images in any of the conference areas, eg. conference rooms, exhibition and catering space, etc, however video content shown by presentation speakers may feature flashing images. 

Assistance

Induction loops using the T-Coil System will be available. You will need to switch your hearing aid to the ‘T’ position. In addition, we ask all speakers and any questions from the audience to use the microphones.

If you wish to use the induction loops, please contact us at events(at)lifearc.org so we can ensure you are seated in the section near the loop. 

116 Pall Mall welcomes all assistance dogs; however, no pets are permitted. So, we can make sure your guide dog is well looked after, please email us at events(at)lifearc.org before you arrive.

Two disabled parking bays are available in Waterloo Place, directly outside the Athenaeum. Unfortunately, these spaces cannot be pre-booked and are available on a first-come first-serve basis.

Food and drink

  • Tea, coffee, and pastries will be available on arrival.
  • Tea, coffee, biscuits or cake bites will be available during the morning and afternoon breaks.
  • Hot buffet lunch will be available on Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Drinks and canapés will be provided during the evening poster reception on Wednesday and Thursday. Bowl food will also be provided on Thursday evening.

On-site facilities

Modified toilet facilities are available and are accessible by lift: 

  • Basement - ladies and gentlemen
  • Ground - gentlemen

In case of an emergency

In the unlikely event of a fire or other emergency, the fire alarms will activate. The venue fire marshalls will also assist you as you leave. 

If you require additional assistance in the event of an emergency, please let us know via events(at)lifearc.org, before the event. 

A qualified first aider will be available during the event.
